Total IgE Levels Are Linked to the Course of Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria During Pregnancy.

Pregnancy and Chronic Urticaria: characteristics and outcomes of pregnancy in chronic urticaria patients (PREG-CU), the recent study on pregnancy and chronic urticaria (CU) by the network of Urticaria Centers of Reference and Excellence, showed that CU improves in half (51.1%) of the patients during pregnancy and that 50% of these patients who improved experience worsening after delivery. The reasons for this remain largely unclear, although patients with low disease activity before pregnancy, for example, without angioedema or treatment, and with chronic inducible urticaria had an increased risk for worsening of urticaria during pregnancy.
