The amplitude and phase distributions of cosmic ray variation at different conditions of Forbush decrease

•The interest in studying the Forbush impacts of a cosmic ray is linked to spectacular events on the Sun.•Fifty-three Forbush decrease events were divided into four categories according to their shapes.•The data of cosmic ray intensity from five different neutron monitor sites were analyzed.•The vectorial average of the daily vectors for each day of the types of Forbush decrease was calculated.•Changes in CR anisotropy and, as a result, in the diurnal vector are part of the Forbush effect.
