摘要
Voltage source converter-based high voltage direct current transmission technology is primly established in the field of DC transmission systems for bulk power transmission over a very long distance. However, a VSC-based system is very sensitive to DC cable faults, which may affect the transmission stability, reduces reliability, and causes prolonged unavailability. In this paper, the transient current and voltage characteristics of the DC and AC sides of the VSC-HVDC system during single and double pole faults are analyzed. An experimental system of 200 MVA, ±100 kV is observed for a time frame of 6cycles. The MATLAB/Simulink software is used to model the experimental system and obtained the results for the same.
