An Energy Optimization-Based Fast Rerouting Method for Micro-nano Satellite Formation

With the increasing application of micro-nano satellite networks, it must establish a reliable and invulnerable network system, thus the fast recovery problem for the network faults is been focused. Since the traditional routing convergence methods take a long time and calculate the rerouting path many times, which resulting in extra power consumption, they are not suitable for micro-nano satellite networks with limited power supply and computing capability. In view of above problems, this research proposes an energy optimization-based fast rerouting method for micro-nano satellite formation. This algorithm considers the consumed energy of the satellites and the distance between them to construct a new rerouting cost function. Based on this cost function, LFA (Loop Free Alternate) algorithm is adopted to protect the link faults. The experimental results show that, the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce the network routing overhead rate and average packet loss rate, and improve the survival time of satellite nodes at the same time.
