Implementation of Image-Based Attendance System

Face recognition is becoming increasingly important in every industry in the current era. It can be used for security, identification, and a variety of other purposes. It is extensively utilized because it is a non-contact technique. It can also be used in schools, companies, universities to track the attendance of students and employees. In this paper, a face recognition system is implemented using Python Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and OpenCV for monitoring the attendance of students. It is carried out in four phases: database construction, face detection, recognition, and attendance updating in an excel sheet. Performance of the proposed technique is measured in terms of accuracy.
