High-intensity interval and moderate-intensity continuous training ameliorate the deteriorating acute effect of noise stress on corticosterone and testosterone in rats

•It was found that obligatory both of moderate intensity continues training (MCT) and high intensity interval training (HIIT) in rats increased stress as indicated by increasing corticosterone and decreasing of testosterone to cortisol ratio.•It was found that in response to acute noise stress, previous exercise trainings of HIIT and MCT could ameliorate testosterone to cortisol ratio reduction as a result of noise stress.•HIIT was more effective than MCT on ameliorating the effect of noise stress on testosterone to cortisol ratio.
