Model-Free Predictive Direct Speed Control for SPMSM Drives

This paper presents a model-free predictive direct speed control (MFPDSC) method based on an extended sliding mode observer (ESMO) for the surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) drive system. It solves the performance degradation of multi parameter mismatches and external disturbances for conventional model predictive speed control. First, an ultra-local model (ULM) is introduced for the PMSM drive system. Next, based on the ULM, the MFPDSC is designed to simultaneously control the current and speed. Then, the unknown parts of the ULM are estimated by the designed ESMO and compensated for the errors caused by the multi parameter mismatches. Finally, the simulation verifies the feasibility and validity of the presented method.
