Amphi-PIC J-Aggregate - Protein Complexes: Stability in Blood and Toxicity to Cell Cultures

The stability of amphi-PIC J-aggregate in a complex with the blood components and their toxicity in vitro have been estimated. The intensity of absorption and luminescence bands for the J-aggregates in the blood components appeared to be higher compared with buffer solution. The same was found for the J-aggregates photostability. The low toxicity was found at low dye concentration (10 ⁻⁵ M and less) and low DMSO content (2% and less) with the most sensitivity for the proliferative function of the cell.
