Comparative Study of Simple and Double-Glazingn Box Solar Cookers by Performances Identification

the solar cooker presents an important alternative in arid region. In this work, we present a comparative study of box solar cooker thermal performance simple and double glazing. Two designs of a double-glazing box-type cooker (the first cooker) were tested against simple glazing box-type cooker (the second cooker). The temperatures in the two solar cookers are measured at different points and compared with each other. the cooker performance of the double glazing cooker was compared with simple glazing cooker during winter 2021 December in the desert Ghardaia region. The test results show in first case. Without load, the maximum temperature of the absorbent plate for the first and second cookers is 125^°C and 130.4^°C respectively at 14:37. in second case with a load of water (1kg) the temperature of the first and second cookers reach 101.07^°C and 94.41^°C respectively at 14:30. The water reached a boiling point in the first cooker before the second cooker, even though the area of the absorbent plate of the second cooker is greater than that of the first cooker. However, with fewer modifications, by creating a double glazing cooker with a larger absorbent plate area, heat loss and cooking time can be reduced at the same time.
