Practical Implementation of an Electronic Controlled Actuator for Micro Wind Turbine Overspeed Protection

摘要
In this paper, an electronic device for furling control of a micro wind turbine is being presented. The electronic circuit has an analog implementation, to provide robustness and a relative accessible troubleshooting. The presented device monitors the output voltage of the turbine which, in turn, is proportional to the wind speed. By implementing a hysteresis – based control, the proposed circuit will observe if the generated voltage is outside the predefined threshold and, if needed, drive an actuator to furl the wind turbine out of the wind.
