摘要
Recently, new properties of two-dimensional (2D) materials have attracted much attention. MoS2 is the most studied two-dimensional material after graphene due to its unique optical, electronic, mechanical, and magnetic properties. Magnetostatic studies were performed for MoS2 and WS2 powders. It is shown that ferromagnetic behavior is present in MoS2, which can be due to local structure reorganization of a few layers of MoS2 on the edges of the particles, non-stoichiometry of the samples, vacancies, and negligible admixtures. Studies of the WS2 sample at low and room temperatures have shown that it is diamagnetic. The obtained results are useful for applications of the low-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides in spintronics, magnetotronics, and strain engineering.
