High-pressure study of spin-crossover phenomenon in two-dimensional Hoffmann-like complex [Fe(Fpz)2Pt(CN)4]

High-pressure study of spin-crossover phenomenon in two-dimensional Hoffmann-like complex [Fe(Fpz) 2 Pt(CN) 4 ] have been carried out by high-pressure experimental techniques including magnetics, powder X-ray diffraction, Raman, Infrared and visible absorption spectroscopy. A complete phase diagram (T, P) for the compound has been obtained. The transition temperature for spin transitions is linearly dependent on pressure, but the hysteresis width shows non-monotonic behavior that differs from theoretical predictions. The elastic interaction model discussion reveals that the anomalous variation of the hysteresis width with pressure is caused by the local distortion of the octahedral structure at pressures above 0.4 GPa.
