Facile low-energy and high-yield synthesis of stable α-CsPbI3 perovskite quantum dots: Decomposition mechanisms and solar cell applications

A low-energy and high-yield synthetic method for stable α-CsPbI3 perovskite quantum dots is developed by rapidly isolating as-synthesized quantum dots from undesirable precipitated residues. In addition, decomposition mechanisms of the quantum dots are systematically studied based on surface chemistry. The synthetic volume can be readily scaled-up without high temperatures in open air, enabling fabrication of high-performance CsPbI3 quantum-dot solar cells.
