•The train-the-trainer (TTT) model can effectively expand bleeding control in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs).•The TTT model can empower LMIC trainers to sustain Stop the Bleed courses locally.•Further use of the TTT model may improve prehospital hemorrhage control in LMICs.
