Assessment of determining factors for severity of NeoCOVIDiabetes in India: A pan India multicentric retrospective study

•Cohorts had, known to have diabetes(KD-58.8%), newly detected to have diabetes(NDD-27.5%) & without diabetes (ND-13.7%).•The highest average blood glucose during the COVID-19 onset was significantly higher in KD than in NDD or ND.•The disease severity according to HRCT, hospitalization, & O2 support was higher among NDD than KD or ND.•Severity in NDD group may not have been steroid-induced, as low doses had higher HRCT scores than high-or no-dose patients.
