•Ethanol (ET) and isopropanol (IPA) can extract spent coffee ground oil (SCGO).•The Langmuir-type model enabled the SCGO partition data description in ET systems.•Linear regression was suitable to describe SCGO partition data in IPA systems.•Hydrated ET requires extractors with double the ideal stages as other solvents.•Absolute alcohols, at 80 °C, require a solvent-to-feed ratio of at least 5.
