摘要

•Cu0,5Zn0,5Fe2O4 ferrite samples are synthesized by co-precipitation method.•Heat treated ferrites prepared with polyvinylpyrrolidone are reduced in an electrochemical system.•Fe-Cu composites form after the electrochemical reduction of the ferrites.•The Fe-Cu composite formation is influenced by heat treatment and polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer.•Fe-Cu composite powders exhibit a high electrocatalytic activity.
