摘要
•Sub-Saharan Africa is richly diverse in cultures and languages; yet, resource limitations may hamper the ability to develop or translate patient-reported outcome measures that could be deemed particularly relevant, considering the prevailing disease burden, and essential to promoting inclusivity.•In this review, we describe the availability of patient-reported outcome measure of health outcomes in 32 widely spoken sub-Saharan African languages, identify key gaps, and discuss potential implications.•Specifically in settings rich in diversity, both in culture and language, there is a risk for the systematic exclusion of important patient populations that may affect the generalizability of research findings or quality of care.
