E-Learning Systems Success through Video Conferencing Software Platforms: Measurement Items and Validation

Computer-assisted learning has received more and more attention during the very recent years. Researchers in the field have deeply investigated e-learning to promote its success. Perusing the related literature reveals that a majority of e-learning studies mainly focused on conventional learning theories to collect the constructs needed to evaluate the e-learning systems success. Although they have been successful to some extent, more studies are required to cover the tenets of connectivism, the most recent theory of learning, and add other neglected but potential features to update the list of promising constructs to enhance the existing models. Therefore, the essential constructs towards the e-learning systems success were extracted by performing a systematic literature review (SLR). Then, the potential variables were gathered in a measurement instrument for hypothesizing their relationship. Accordingly, the present study aims to validate and confirm the items to evaluate the extracted constructs towards the elearning systems success via video conferencing to ensure the benefits and the success of the e-learning systems for efficient learning in both common and uncommon situations. To validate the measurement items, seven experts from the first five top research universities in Malaysia were invited to review the items in terms of relevancy and simplicity. All items and the entire scale passed the acceptable standard for validity.
