On the suitability of the CISPR 16 method for measuring conducted emissions in the 2–150kHz range in low voltage grids

•CISPR 16–1–1 accepts a wide range of compliant implementations that provide different results.•A fixed CISPR 16–1–1 specific configuration does not ensure that uncertainty issues are solved.•Wide tolerances impede the comparison of results from compliant measuring receivers.•An unambiguous guidance of digital implementation of the standard could fix these issues.
