摘要

•The biochar concentration gradient led to an increase in the plant root and aerial organs metal burden.•Increased metal uptake was accompanied by a reduction of several photochemical traits.•Signs of oxidative stress were detected in the plants exposed to the highest biochar concentration.•Plants exposed to 1% biochar showed improved metal uptake whilst maintain a low degree of physiological stress.
