Insight into the synergy between rice shell biochar particle electrodes and peroxymonosulfate in a three-dimensional electrochemical reactor for norfloxacin degradation

•Rice shell biochar is firstly used as particle electrode in the three-dimensional electro-activation of peroxymonosulfate process.•The 3D-PMS process exhibits remarkable synergy for norfloxacin degradation.•1O2 in the 3D-PMS process plays a dominant role for NOR degradation.•RSB could be easily recovered and maintain stable catalytic activity.
