A new species of the genus Hypocharassus Mik (Diptera, Dolichopodidae) from Korea.

Background:The genus Hypocharassus Mik, 1879 has only been recorded in the Nearctic and Oriental regions and, to date, it contains four known species. New information:Hypocharassuscavitarsus sp. n. is described from Korea. This is the first record of this genus in the Palearctic Region. A description of the new species and a key to the Hypocharassus species are presented herein.
