Solving Long-standing Problems in Thermoelectric Properties using Machine Learning

Among the physical quantities that determine thermoelectric properties, the electron density of states and group velocity can be obtained by first-principles band calculations. However, the electron relaxation time is difficult to obtain owing to the existence of various scattering mechanisms. Hirosawa et al. achieved considerable success in determining the electron relaxation time substantially by applying machine learning to experimental data.
