Dragonfly Aerothermal Environment and Aerosciences Instrumentation

The assumptions and methodologies used in the aerothermal calculations for TPS sizing of Dragonfly’s entry and descent into Titan’s atmosphere will be discussed. The aerothermal environments based on these calculations will be detailed. Furthermore, as an Engineering Science Investigation (ESI) is a requirement for New Frontiers missions, an overview of the Dragonfly Entry Aerosciences Measurements (DrEAM) instrumentation suite which aims to provide data of heat flux, pressure and indepth temperature during entry will be provided.
