Study on Urban Environment Gap-fillers of Mobile Broadcasting for Autonomous Vehicles.

In this paper, we present the study results on appropriate Gap-fillers in city areas to provide terrestrial mobile broadcasting services for autonomous vehicles. With autonomous driving Level 4 and 5, people have more free times in cars and the media consumption is to be increased, which is good chance for terrestrial broadcasting. To cover a shadow by high buildings in city area, two types of gap-fillers, small power transmitters and boosters, are compared considering the installation and operation costs. We discussed their applicability and presented the results.
