Holographic Impedance Metasurface Modulating Multi-beam and Polarization State

In this paper, based on the principle of subregional superposition of beam impedances, two tensor holographic impedance surfaces operating at 20 GHz are designed to achieve two-dimensional linearly polarized four-beam ±30° and one-dimensional circularly polarized five-beam ±20° beam scanning. Among them, the axial ratio of circularly polarized beams is less than 3dB, and the gain can reach 20.1dB. The designed holographic impedance surface has multiple feed sources, and switching excitation feed sources can realize independent and flexible adjustment of each beam. In the design, the overall holographic impedance surface is a plane structure, and the size of the antenna is reduced by the method of impedance superposition, which is beneficial to the miniaturized design of the antenna profile.
