Enhanced temporal resolution of vision in action video game players

•Action video game players and controls underwent a simultaneity judgement task.•EEG and eye-tracking data were recorded in virtual reality during the task.•Perceptual sensitivity to asynchronies is better in action video game players.•Behavioral benefits are accompanied by reduced parieto-occipital alpha activities.•Overall, the temporal resolution of vision appears enhanced in video game players.
