摘要
Focused Ultrasound (FUS) is capable of opening the Blood-Brain Barrier (BBBO) in a reversible and targeted manner for the purposes of drug delivery and neuroimmune modulation. FUS-BBBO has been used to reduce Alzheimer's Disease (AD)-associated pathologies in murine models of progressed AD, however new discoveries about the role of AD pathology in disease onset and progression motivates an investigation into factors upstream of pathology accumulation. Here we investigate the ability of monthly FUS-BBBO sessions for preventing the onset and progression of AD pathology in male and female 3xTg mice. Four monthly sessions of FUS-BBBO effectively prevent the accumulation of Amyloid- ${\beta}(\mathbf{A}{\beta})$ and tau pathologies compared to age-matched., untreated controls.
