Association between obstructive sleep apnea and thyroid function: A 10-year retrospective study

•In the non-elderly population, the progress of obstructive sleep apnea may promote the increase in thyroid hormone levels.•Snoring history and age of elderly patients with obstructive sleep apnea had a negative impact on thyroid hormone levels.•Lower average blood oxygen concentration at night will increase the risk of thyroid nodules.•Age stratification is necessary in the future research about the relationship between obstructive sleep apnea and thyroid.
