Seamless and Efficient Resources Allocation in 6G Satellite Networks Servicing Remote User Equipments

Due to their benefits of having a vast coverage area and a high communication capacity, satellite networks have been viewed as a viable future 6G wireless network architecture for supporting remote user equipments (RUEs). The efficiency of multi-dimensional resource cooperation significantly affects the speed at which RUEs download data. However, in real-world settings, the environment’s dynamics, such as the channel conditions, are unpredictable, which presents difficult problems in making optimum use of multi-dimensional network resources. Aiming to maximize the amount of RUEs data in the whole network, we model the problem of resource allocation for the RUEs. Thus, we formulate a joint optimization problem by minimizing the network wireless transmission power and bandwidth resources allocation while fulfilling the QoS requirements of the RUEs and meeting the coverage time constraint of satellites and RUEs. To handle this problem with minimal complexity, we separate the original problem into two subproblems, i.e., transmit power management and bandwidth resource allocation. Then, using decomposition and convex optimization theory, we obtain the closed-form expressions of transmit power control and bandwidth resource allocation and then solve each iteratively. The simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
