JAAD Int. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jdin.2023.01.019 Google Scholar shared data from a retrospective chart review evaluating outcomes associated with the saucerization of squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs). The authors reviewed 12 years of data and found that the rate of local recurrence was ∼6.5% when negative margins were seen on joint dermatology-dermatopathology review when additional tip sections were studied. They also noted important exceptions to the generally low recurrence rate, such as a much higher (18.8%) rate of recurrence in solid organ transplant recipients.
