Current development of bionic flexible sensors applied to marine flow field detection

At present, the utilization and development of marine resources have received extensive attention. Therefore, a high-sensitivity flow field sensing system is urgently needed, which can realize functions including current velocity detection, eddy-current detection, and target tracking. After millions of years of evolution, animals in nature have adapted their structures and functions to their living environments, therefore, bionic flexible sensors in nature always possess higher sensing performance compared with traditional sensors. This article reviews marine flexible sensors inspired by fish lateral lines, seal whiskers, and dome pressure receptors, etc. Besides, the sensing principle and sensing ability are introduced. Finally, the future perspectives and outlooks toward the development of marine flexible bionic sensors are prospected.
