•• Influence of precast fracture angle and connectivity rate on soft rock.•• Uniaxial and triaxial compression tests were used to study the influences of fracture angle and fracture connectivity rate on the stress–strain relationship, failure mode and mechanical properties of soft rock.•• The uniaxial compression constitutive model and Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion of soft rock are established.•• The fitting equation of the influence of fracture angle and connectivity rate on cohesion and internal friction angle of soft rock.
