摘要
Telehealth is predicated on telecommunication, a service and an economic sector, which has invested heavily in physical infrastructure to expand the realms of connectivity. Every patient and every practice should have access to the services and infrastructure to provide better healthcare. This chapter discusses not only the requirements of a modern practice, but also the need for urologists to actively engage and advocate for policies to expand access to care for patients. As discussed in previous chapters, physicians have a responsibility, legal, ethical, and moral, not only to protect their patient's privacy but also to be able to provide continuity of care. There is a need for those engaged in telehealth provision to be aware of system vulnerabilities, and to take steps to mitigate against cyber or other attacks, which may compromise patient care or safety.
