Ferrite microstrip limiter based on the equivalent nonlinear loss simulation model for the narrow microwave pulse environment

The design theory and simulation approach are proposed for the ferrite limiter that can be used in the narrow microwave pulse environment. The theoretical model is based on the ferrite nonlinear (NL) loss effects. The input microwave pulse width parameters are introduced to characterize the limiting performance of the ferrite limiter for the varied input pulse width conditions. Moreover, the NL loss is converted into an equivalent limiting model that is available for commercial electromagnetic simulation tools. The limiting measurements and simulation results of the ferrite limiter in the X-band show good agreement.
