In silico identification and comparative analysis of β-carotene protein in mango ( Mangifera indica L.)

Mango is a healthfully rich natural product crop. This study inspected 29 sequences of β-carotene protein and one UniProt sequence of the Anacardiaceae family. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the β-carotene protein sequences might have different evolutionary patterns in Mangifera indica. A total of 17 motifs and 40 conserved domains among the test accessions were recognized. In silico identification of β-carotene protein and its comparative analysis may provide a basis for studying evolutionary relationships in future analyses with the aim of helping new enthusiastic young protein researchers or horticulturists as this is the first-ever detailed study of its kind among the Anacardiaceae family.
