摘要
Childhood maltreatment (CM), a chronic stress factor, accelerates telomere shortening but the underlying mechanism is unknown. Mitochondria are primary sources of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and alter their metabolic activity due to stress. Here, we investigated the change in telomere-mitochondria dynamics due to CM in women right after a physiological challenge (parturition) and later at basal physiology, and in their newborns.
