Independent Photovoltaic Hydrogen System and Control

Hydrogen energy is recognized as clean energy and is emerging as zero-carbon energy. However, the traditional method of hydrogen production from the power grid runs counter to the energy concept of "green". Therefore, the independent photovoltaic hydrogen production system has become one of the hot research directions. This paper focuses on the long-distance photovoltaic hydrogen production system, transforms the traditional droop control inverter so that it can track the photovoltaic maximum power point under the condition of an independent inverter with constant resistance load, and proposes a rectifier side control strategy that can cooperate with the AC side transmission power. Finally, an optimization scheme is proposed for the AC side harmonics caused by a phase-controlled rectifier. The whole system and control strategy are verified by simulation and hardware in the loop experiment, ensuring the strategy’s correctness.
