NOx emission prediction of coal-fired power units under uncertain classification of operating conditions

•A hybrid BiLSTM-Error-SVM model is proposed for NOx prediction in coal-fired power units.•An uncertainty classification method for working conditions is constructed to improve prediction error.•The correction strategy compensates the prediction results and reduces the prediction error.•The proposed model has high reliability and accuracy for NOx emission in nonlinear time series.
