摘要
•High cycle fatigue crack growth of FRP-repaired metallic cracked plates is modelled employing the XFEM.•Debonding of FRP/metal interface, cycle by cycle degradation of the adhesive layers, and damage accumulation in the FRP layers are taken into consideration.•The proposed XFEM modelling approach successfully simulates fatigue behaviour of cracked metallic plates.•Effects of the plate and FRP thickness and width on the FCG in FRP-repaired aluminium plates are studied.
