摘要
Asymmetrical plasmonic bowtie nanostructures on a silica substrate are presented in this paper. The electromagnetic enhancement achieved at the centric vicinity of the asymmetric nano-bowtie is numerically modelled using the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD). The effects of the degree of asymmetry in terms of the flared angle and the length of the nano-bowtie, the effect of the angle of incident light, and the effect of periodic and aperiodic configurations of these nanostructures are extensively analysed to study the tunability of the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) wavelength over the visible and near infrared wavelength ranges. These nanostructures can be employed for numerous plasmonic applications like biomedical sensing, fluorescence microscopy, and surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS).
