Sub-ppm level ethanol detection based on the gas sensor of g-C3N4-ZnO-Zn2SnO4 nanocomposite

The designing of novel nanocomposites for gas sensors with superior performances is extremely desired. In this paper, a series of nanocomposites have been synthesized via the hydrothermal method. The characterizations such as XRD, BET, SEM, TEM, EDS and XPS have been used to confirm the morphological and structural prop-erties of the composites. Five gas sensors were fabricated and the sensor of gCN-ZNO-5 detected the highest response of 14.6 towards 100 ppm ethanol, also, the sensor showed good selectivity (2.4), better reproducibility (5 cycles), impressive stability (24 days), the minimum limit of detection (0.1 ppm), and short response/recovery times (25 s/12 s).
