Introduction to healthcare for transgender and gender-diverse people

This editorial provides a broad introduction to transgender health for transgender and gender-diverse people. Following a brief description of the history of transgender and gender-diverse people, the development of medical treatment is discussed, together with the use of appropriate terminology and language. The content largely draws attention to the guidance in the Stan-dards of Care for the Health of Transgender and Gender Diverse People Version 8 developed by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and published in 2022.
