Causality Assessment for IIoT Sensing System and Digital Twin

This paper presents details about the need to implement causality strategies for the prediction of sensor failures in an Industrial Internet of Things environment. The cause-effect relationships between the electro-mechanical systems, augmented with the sensing units have been realized with the help of different types of causality methods. The implementation details related to the causality effect and the propagation of defectiveness in a series of bearings through a shaft of the four bearings of the IIoT system were illustrated for the prediction of the near failure of the system.
