Analysis of the Uniformity of Flow Field Inside the Bulk Curing Barn During the Yellowing Period on CFD

Based on the theory of heat and mass transfer in porous media and computational fluid dynamics (CFD), a numerical model of tobacco curing was established, the flow field inside the curing barn was simulated under different air inlet velocities and tobacco loading, and the results were verified by experiments. The simulation results show that: when the confidence level is 95%, the air inlet speed has a significant impact on the uniformity of wind speed between tobacco. When the inlet wind speed is 2 m/s and the loading capacity of tobacco is 5 t, the uniformity of tobacco leaf surface wind speed is optimal. The experimental results show that the experimental results and the numerical simulation results have a good fitting effect. During the yellowing period, the change rates of the moisture content of tobacco leaves at different positions in the barn are basically the same, and the flow field is uniform. The establishment of the numerical model of porous media is reasonable and effective, which can provide theoretical support for the optimization of the internal flow field and the baking process.
