摘要
This study supports goals enacted by New York State's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). A high penetration of inverter-based distributed energy resources is occurring in the electric utility's distribution systems while the energy system progresses further into its electrification transformation. Traditional cooling and heating methods for single family homes are substituted with properly sized battery energy storage systems and geothermal heat pumps in this study. The simulated 4.16kV distribution feeder is presented with the software and hardware used for real-time control and monitoring using the Real-Time Digital Simulator (RTDS). Specific electrical nodes provide phasor measurement unit data, with respect to voltage, current and phase displacement, to control the delivery or absorption of real and reactive power ensuring voltage is maintained throughout the entirety of the feeder. These experimental results offer a solution to fulfilling a healthy transition for implementing aggregated distributed energy resources by using synchrophasor technology to meter and record ancillary services while appropriately shifting proposed residential heat pump loading.
