Generation of Third Order OAM Wave with Polygon Ring Antenna for 5G Applications

An orbital angular momentum (OAM) polygon ring patch antenna operating for third order is presented. The suggested antenna design consists of a polygon ring patch which is printed on a Duroid substrate. The operating frequency for this OAM patch antenna is 5.34 GHz. The proposed antenna design is small in size and has planar geometry with overall substrate dimensions of 100mmx100mm. Furthermore, the proposed antenna has higher gain of 6dB that is significant in comparison to other models with similar dimensions. The suggested antenna is able to operate for 5G wireless applications in access networks with increased channel capacity and high data rate.
