摘要
Optimization techniques have been used in antenna design for several years. The antenna is generally analyzed through parametric analysis, in which certain antenna parameters are altered until the desired performance is achieved. In this paper, an E-shaped microstrip antenna is optimized using Genetic Algorithm (GA), while the results obtained after optimization are compared with the existing antenna designed and optimized through Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). FR-4 (∊ r =4.1) substrate with 1.6 mm width has been used in the design. The probe feed method is applied to achieve 50Ω impedance. After successfully implementing GA optimization, an ultra-wideband antenna design is achieved with improved bandwidth of 375 MHz providing a reasonable gain of 3.04 dBi. An antenna designed at this frequency can be used for the Hyperthermia application.
