摘要

•Torrefaction condensate (TC) was used for acidification of CaO sorbent.•TC-modified sorbents exhibited excellent cyclic stability over cycles.•Carbon deposition was introduced to sorbents during calcination under N2 atmosphere.•The introduced carbon deposition acted as overlay and hindered CaO grain sintering.•Increasing torrefaction temperature and TC dosage leaded to more carbon deposition.
